The Lesson of the Envoy
I know the difference of right and wrong,
I know all that I should.
I know of all the dos and donts,
As best any man could.
I set my goals and walk my path,
Knowing what all men should.
The world is full of Good and bad,
And we should do all we could.
I walk the line of decay and pain,
Questioning all wrong in my path.
I set my sights on all who long,
For my incomparable wrath.
I set the bar of of Good so high and tall,
My morals glow so bright.
Evil stands like mere walls of straw,
To this new envoy of light.
I stood a structure so strong and true,
Its integrity without question.
But I stand here now weak and broken,
Having learned my lesson.
Standing for what's right and true,
And striving for what's just.
Can lead you off the deep end,
Of an insatiable lust.
As I tried to square right from wrong,
I found myself confused.
As I ran away with the heads of kings,
As mine were amused.
I found that I stood nor on light,
Nor on darkness' fray.
I found myself in a new room,
Which only stood on grey.
I found myself an envoy of dark,
A beginner to an end.
Nor a leader of light,
Nor darkness my friend.
I set to change the world I stood,
Hoping to find perfection.
But had I a chance to go back,
I would carry one correction.
I walk the line of light and dark,
I walk as best I could.
I triffle with no man nor means,
Knowing its best I should.
