'OMG, look at what she's wearing.' 'Did you see what she wore to the class?' 'Such inappropriate colors to wear to a formal event.' 'What a tacky shirt it is that he's wearing.' 'He's nice but have you ever seen the kinds of clothes he wears, I can never go out with such a guy.'
A lot of us have friends who have either said this to us about someone or we've found ourselves saying such things to people around us at time. So let's talk fashion because that's what we all care about at the end of the day or at least the most of us. For the time being, we'll deal with the girls but boys please take notes, you might be able to help out your sister, friends & most importantly your girlfriend to know what to wear to her classes and what not to. Also it is absolutely essential to know what to wear to let's say your farewell party. You don't want to be remembered for being the girl who wore what she wore. If you know what we mean.
Okay so, Monday morning or Tuesday evening class. Keep it as casual as you can. And for heavens sake, don't wear make up! A little amount is fine of course but keep it natural. Layers of make up with a casual attire looks weird and is definitely inappropriate if you're going to take a class. Heels. A "BIG" no-no. Even if you need to give a presentation and look formal don't wear them to school. Just carry them to put them on during the presentation. Not only is it uncomfortable to walk around in so much in heels but you realise the guys around you are going to judge you so much and well it just doesn't look nice. Besides, if you were to wear heels to a party would different would your attire be? The same thing goes for those layers of make up. Save your make up and heels for a party.
Accessories.
A must to talk about. It is very happy to see how most of us don't wear any accessories to school (apart from watches, tiny studs and a small sized pendant). The time has come that most of us have realised how inappropriate and how over dressed we'd look if wore dangling earrings, necklaces and the like to college.
Besides we go to college to get an education and not show around by looking beautiful. And well if your boyfriend goes to the same college it still isn't a valid reason. You can look nice for him outside of school.
Keep it basic. Keep is simple but know how to keep it nice.
Wear flat slippers or slides or closed shoes of any kind, as long as they're not fancy and not glittery. Because they say a girl's just as hot as the shoe she chooses (well the right shoe for the right occasion).
Time for those clothes that you wear. Girls, please don't wear loose fitting jeans with your kurta. So. Not. On. Skinnies look perfectly fine and straight cotton pants look the best with a kurta to be honest. Loose fitting jeans don't look good with anything. It's rather boyish. Pretty boyish. A knee length shirt with straight pants and you're the bomb. As long as you know how to carry it. That is also very very important!
Now coming onto your red lips. Please don't. Not to college. Never for even once! Save your red lips for the party we talked about!
Good luck! And if you ever need an advice of any kind. We're here.
